How Mosque Carpet Rolls Are Planned
We start from the hall's width parallel to the qibla wall and its depth. The row depth is set first, so a whole number of rows fits the hall; then the rolls are laid out to cover the width with as few seams as possible. Columns, the mihrab niche and the minbar are marked on the plan so the cuts are known before weaving, which keeps waste down.
Seams That Disappear
Because the prayer lines are woven into the roll, the pattern on each roll has to line up with the next. We plan the seams to fall where the design hides them, and the fitter matches the lines across each seam before it is joined. Done properly, the joins are invisible from standing height.
Mosque Carpet Roll Prices
Rolls are priced by area. Plain and prayer-line rolls run from about $9.38–$18.75 per m² in acrylic ($0.87–$1.74 per sq ft) and $18.75–$34.38 in wool; mihrab and medallion designs from $15.63 in acrylic. Because a roll is woven for your hall, the quote is for the area you need plus a small allowance for cutting, not for a fixed roll length.
Rolls for Small Masjids and Prayer Rooms
A small masjid or prayer room may need only part of a roll. We still weave it to the room, so the prayer lines sit in the right place for that room rather than wherever a stock roll happens to end. Several small rooms can share one production run.
Delivery and Handling
Rolls travel wrapped against moisture and dust, by road to Europe and by sea container further afield. Let them rest in the hall for a day before fitting so they reach room temperature, and fit them over a clean, dry, level floor. Our installation guide covers the rest.
